SURVIVOR 30 – Episode 5
• Guess I was wrong about Shirin getting voted off…this week.
• More great photography!
• Carolyn doesn’t trust Shirin…as Shirin struggles to fit in.
• Dan needs new stories, ‘cause he’s boring his tribemates with his repeated telling of old ones.
• The bromance between Rodney and Joaquin is sickening. Rodney says, in comparing his relationship to Joaquin, that they are like apples and oranges. He doesn’t realize that that makes them different, not the same, as he feels they are. Duh!
• The Reward Challenge has Nagarote (red) coming from behind in a climbing & sandbag launch competition. They win beef stew, mac & cheese and hot chocolate. Hot chocolate in a hot environment? WTF, where’s the beer?
• In addition, later that night they are treated to a rarely seen event. They witness a large turtle coming out of the sea to lay and bury her eggs on the beach. Their guide says that only 1 out of the 120 eggs that she has laid will survive. What he undoubtedly meant to say is that it is estimated that only 1% of hatchlings reach sexual maturity.
• Still, the photographers did an excellent job of filming this scene.
• At Escameca (blue), the strategizing against Joe begins. I guess they see what I do, and that is, that Joe is playing one hell of a game!
• Rodney thinks that he has it made, and that he can say whatever he wants to Sierra, and that she’ll forgive and forget. What a dufus!
• Rodney is so cock-sure of himself that he proposes, very forcefully, the idea to throw the Immunity Challenge in order to vote off Joe. Doesn’t he realize that this stupid behavior isn’t going to work? He must have seen at least a little bit of past Survivor seasons, in order to come up with this plan. He’s not that smart to dream it up all by himself. Apparently, he missed the epic fail part, when this has taken place. Rodney’s mental image of himself is grossly incorrect!
• Even though Mike admits that this strategy hasn’t worked in the past, he deludes himself into thinking that this time they’ll be successful. Ha!
• The Immunity Challenge comes down to a tie and Mike can win it, but, blatantly and obviously, he loses on purpose. What? Nobody sees this? C’mon, somebody must have seen what he was doing! He plots with Kelly to lose it to her and gives her the proper order of items so that her tribe can win it. You see, it was a memory game that required putting different items in the correct order.
• Mike even talks to Kelly in front of Jeff, telling her what his plan is. And JP didn’t hear this? This is some ridiculous crap and it makes my stomach turn! Naturally, Nagarote (red) wins. Kelly thinks that Mike was looking out for her, not aware of the overall plan of his tribemates.
• Later, Mike’s not proud of himself for losing on purpose, but now, he’s using his head and plots to break up the bromance between Rodney and Joaquin.
• Joaquin thinks this is going to be “A walk in the park”. Guess again, dude!
• Dan still doesn’t know how to talk to Sierra, in order to win her over to his side. His alliance needs her vote, but Sierra hates Dan. He disappoints me.
• Tribal Council time…which way will it go? Sierra is the deciding factor.
• Joe gets 3 votes and Joaquin gets 4 votes. I haven’t liked Joaquin since episode 1. See ya dude! Rodney’s shocked facial expression tells it all. Hahaha! Priceless!
• #blindside…again.
• “Next time on Survivor”: Rodney confronts Mike about his “Teaming up behind my back, bro?” Rodney plans his revenge and then the tribes merge!
