Gary is one of the long timers here at Pygmy Island... Hell, he helped fund the old board with large donations whenever the sign went up. You know him better as "Troubleis". Well he had no trouble at all getting on television... as a matter of fact he was noticed through one of the casting links advertised on pygmy island. I thought Gary was a leader in the show "Borderland"... I think Survivor would be a great fit for him as well. Congrats Trouble!!! Nice job!
“Borderland” premieres Sunday, April 13 at 9E/6P
Six Americans from all walks of life and a wide spectrum of views about illegal immigration agree to spend more than a month learning about and retracing the paths of three migrants who perished along the U.S.-Mexico border. Far from their homes — and comfort zones — the six begin their own journey in an unlikely place: an Arizona morgue filled with the unidentified remains of would-be immigrants.
“You all have strong opinions about the border,” Pima County Chief Medical Examiner Gregory Hess tells them. “The one thing you all have in common is you don’t really know it.”
Now they will get their chance.
Meet the cast of “Borderland”: Gary Larsen
Age: 54
Hometown: Pasco, Wash.
Occupation: Farmer
Position: Says he is “the most neutral of the group” but leans toward letting everyone in for what he calls “a selfish reason”
A third-generation farmer, Gary grows potatoes and asparagus on his family’s 1,000-acre Washington state farm. All his 180 employees are Hispanic, and while he says they all have paperwork showing they are eligible to work, he admits he has no idea who is here legally and who is not.
He is certain that his workers aren’t taking the jobs of native-born Americans, who he says reject the hard stoop labor required to bring in the harvest. “Without all these people coming in, these menial jobs would not get done,” he says.
Married and the father of two, Gary says he applied to “Borderland” for the adventure. “Whatever happens, I am going to embrace it.”

Thought I would start posting some photos of the off camera stuff. The Cast. Funny, after taking this picture, Randy and myself had a little race down the hill, across the valley floor to a old shelter. Upon reaching the shelter and going inside I hear a slight scream, when I walk out, Randy is propped up against the building with his pants around his ankles and ALex pulling cactus quills out of his legs and ass. The producers weren't to happy with me on the eve of filming getting Randy hurt. The Drone. responsible for all the cool overhead shots. Our transportation in AZ for a week.

Yes we shot going down the road. Some of our pre trip education Our first night of camping under the stars outside of Tuscon and tents. The men had our tent up before the cameras were ready, so we have to rescue the ladies and put theirs up for the cameras.

Drone Prep Yes, we had to be aware of rattlesnakes. This one was road kill by Border Patrol. Of course I was the one on the cast that didn't like snakes and the only one to see the damn things. The day before we got on the train Alison and myself were set up to start a shot of us walking down the railroad tracks, we had to walk into some high grasses and then onto the tracks. Just as soon as I stepped into the grass a snake goes skating out in front of me, I was like " Alison stop there is a snake...Alison? " I turned around and she was all the way back behind the producers 40 feet back. We got to go around the weeds. You've been warned Border Patrol doing their job

Pretty intense. I liked when they were all hanging on the train, on the roofs, the sides etc.
