Ah yes, hope springs eternal, or at least until the run is over. :-)
Recently my perspective on this has changed a bit. I've tried to imagine what it would be like being responsible for casting this show. It certainly helped with the obnoxious sense of entitlement I had -- as though they owed it to me to put me on the show because I have applied a lot. It has to be challenging to find people who are going to be consistently entertaining, and really that's what it's all about. America is a culture full of spectators who delusionally think they are actually stars.
Yep, gotta be a challenge. May the best applicant win, especially if its me.

Well, I am not sure if it will open up when the premiere airs or if it waits a bit... I think they get busy in November, so I assume sometime in October the light will be green... and time to apply again. Yes, I think the sooner the better... they are casting 2 seasons at once and if this run of second chancers produces good ratings, then they may just go that route again... so... that means that they are only casting one show, and I bet they already have about 8-10 people lined up for it... so send it in early.  thanks for the clarification |

Now that the casting site is down, I would assume they are once again updating the site. So I guess it is time to actually start thinking about this again.
As for the super short bio that they require you to submit with your application (like the 300 word one)...what do most people write? I never know what to put there.

Put the things that make you stand out... Typical ones... Are you GAY, TRANS-GENDER, DEAF, BLIND, 3 BOOBS, HERMAPHRODITE, DO HAVE A SPECTACULAR JOB THAT STANDS OUT? ASTRONAUT, Baseball star, Cowboy, Clown in the circus? Or if you are "Typical"... elaborate on that... worlds best Mom, Dad, rtc ... stress accents, tattoos... multiracial backgrounds... stuff that people would want to know more about....

Great advice as always LP. Trying to convince casting they should put you on because of how much you want to play or how well you can start fire is not a winning strategy.

I haven't heard from any credible source that phone calls have started. I would assume they have if they are reviewing tapes.

Hey peeps! Just joined y'all on the Island. Thanks Laughing Pygmy for making this cool place for us to talk and share our thoughts.
I sent my video and application in a little while back and I am still awaiting a phone call from ... someone ... anyone? The wait is painful! And it sounds like I may be waiting through years of re-apps and silence LOL!
Do they collect lots of applications and look through them all before they start calling the "selects" in one burst? Or do they trudge thru them all thru the year? I'm so excited to know! I don't think my vid was that crap ... maybe a little but hey I'm no video guru!
